Getting-in-touch with your baby is as important as food and clothing. Your love and touch helps your baby feel secure. Your interactions establish their first relationships. As we have witnessed in orphanages in romania, infants who are not touched and loved, fail to thrive and die.

Vimala McClure introduced inant massage to the United States in the mid '70's. Read more about her and the beginning of the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) on Origins page.

Why should you learn infant massage: Review our benefits page where we name but a few of the many benefits for the baby, parent and society.

Though you can learn infant massage by reading a book, it is much more fun to attend a class. Thousands of Certified Infant Masage Instructors (CIMI's) have taken training through IAIM. Instructors not only help you learn the strokes but help you learn your babies cues to help you bond with your baby.

Sharing your experiences with other new parents in a class setting helps you feel you are not along in these new experiences. To find a class in your area, go to the Class page.

If teaching parents infant massage sounds interesting to you, pleave visit the Instructor Training page to learn about our trainers and their training dates.
